Born on 7 June 1964 in Foumban, NSANGOU Issofa hails from the Noun Division in the West Region of the Republic of Cameroon.

He studied at the State University of Moldavia in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), where he obtained a Master’s of Science Degree in Theoretical Physics in 1991. In 2011, he obtained a PhD in Physics, specialising in «Condensed Matters" in the University of Dschang, Cameroon.

Prior to his appointment on 7 July 2011 as member of the Electoral Board, this lecturer had held the following positions:

  • Tutor at the Physics Department in the University of Yaounde, Cameroon, from 1992 to 1993;
  • Assistant lecturer at the Physics Department, University of Dschang – Cameroun, from 1994;
  • Coordinator and Acting Head of the Physics Department in the University of Dschang, from 1994 to 1998;
  • Lecturer, Physics Department, University of Dschang, Cameroon, since 2005.

Dr NSANGOU Issofa is author of several publications in the field of physics:

Dr NSANGOU Issofa took oath on 21 July 2011 before the Supreme Court, seating as the Constitutional Council: “I swear to fully and faithfully discharge my duties and to exercise my office without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force, to ensure the confidentiality of proceedings and votes, to abstain from taking public positions and to decline any consultation on matters falling under the purview of Elections Cameroon”
