Electoral process: setting up of a permanent national platform for dialogue.

On Tuesday, 23 April 2019, ELECAM, in partnership with the United Nations systems organised in Douala a national meeting with main stakeholders of the electoral process.

This meeting is within the framework of the “PEACE BUILDING FUND” project of “Strengthening capacities in support of peaceful electoral processes and social cohesion in Cameroon”.

The meeting was held to fine-tune different proposals of stakeholders of the electoral process to set up a permanent national platform for dialogue.

This national platform for dialogue will enable all stakeholders to take stock in order to determine on the one hand all weak points to be corrected, and on the other hand, all the positive assets to be consolidated.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Board took the opportunity to present to stakeholders of the electoral process in the hall, the benefits of compromise, dialogue and search for peace.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairperson of the Electoral Board appealed for a spirit of responsibility on the part of these stakeholders and invited them to be part of peace and social cohesion.
