The Third Ordinary Session of the Electoral Board for the year 2016 held on 16 July 2016 at the Yaounde Mont-Fébé Hotel, presided over by Dr Samuel FONKAM AZU’U, President of the said Board.
Dr FONKAM Samuel AZU’U, President of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon presided over the Third Ordinary Session of the said Board, on Saturday, 16 July 2016, as from 11 a.m., at the Mont Febe Hotel, assisted by Barrister EBANGA EWODO Justin. Mr. ABDOULAYE BABALE, Director General of Elections served as minutes secretary, assisted by Dr. ESSOUSSE Erik, Deputy Director General of Elections.
In his opening statement, the President of the Electoral Board welcomed all participants, and especially Barrister EBANGA EWODO Justin, Vice-President of the said Board, just back from a medical evacuation abroad. He equally acknowledged the presence of the two new members recently appointed by the Head of State, who took the oath of office on Thursday, 14 July 2016 before the Supreme Court, sitting as the Constitutional Council.
The Director General of Elections then gave an account to the Electoral Board on the state of implementation of its resolutions, before seeking an authorisation from the said Board for the regularisation of transfers from one credit line to another.
Thereafter, the Electoral Board scrutinised and adopted the administrative and management accounts of Elections Cameroon for the 2015 financial year, submitted by the Director General of Elections.
The Director General of Elections also presented a report on construction work on the new Head Office and the warehouse for election materials. In this regard, he revealed that progress is satisfactory so far and that reception of the warehouse is effective.
Finally, the Electoral Board reviewed its forthcoming activities, notably: field trips, the holding of the National Consultation Forum between ELECAM and Other Stakeholders of the Electoral Process and trips to be made abroad by Members of the Board, in view of taking stock of the enrolment of Cameroonians of the Diaspora on electoral registers.
At the end of the deliberations, the President of the Electoral Board praised the Director General of Elections for the quality of the documents presented and participants for their constructive contributions that accounted for the smooth conduct of the deliberations, before declaring the session closed at 9: 30 p.m./-
