FULL SATISFACTION OF THE ELECTORAL BOARD

The Electoral Board held its 7th Session as of Right related to the 9 February 2020 twin election on Tuesday, 18 February 2020, as from 11 am, in the Conference Room, at its head office, located within the administrative neighbourhood. In his opening statement, the Chairperson of the Electoral Board, ENOW Abrams EGBE,acclaimed the valour, lucidity and dynamism exercised by Members of the Electoral Board in the performance of their tasks, which ranged from the scrutiny of nomination papers right up to the conveyance of election material and documents towards the different constituencies.

This Session as of Right had as prime objective to assess the conduct of the twin legislative and municipal elections of 9 February 2020.

It also afforded an opportunity to commend electors, the Administration, civil society organisations, national and international bodies and finally men and women of the media. Such a convincing result could not be achieved, the Electoral Board Chairperson stated, without the participation of all and sundry. Elections, he, concluded, that were conducted against a general atmosphere of calm and serenity.
