Elections Cameroon is educating and sensitising citizens through the "CAFE MEDIA ELECAM" concept on community radio stations.

With a view to raising awareness, educating, encouraging and inciting citizens to go and register to vote, but also to create closer ties between the electoral and referendum institution and the population of rural areas, Elections Cameroon is stepping up to the plate with a campaign called "ELECAM Media Café on community radios".

During this campaign, ELECAM officials discussed with local populations through special broadcasts organised in community radio stations identified in certain divisions of the country's ten regions.

As a result, people in rural areas were made aware of issues relating to the electoral process, in particular electoral register revision operations, such as registration, modifications, deletions, transfers, field visit schedules and the dissemination of the Electoral Code.

During these special broadcasts, with the Regional Delegate, the Divisional Branch Head and the Council Branch Head as panelists, listeners were given the opportunity to intervene live in order to put their concerns to ELECAM officials or to take part in the "electoral quiz" organised for the occasion, with prizes to be won.
